The Design Process

The design process includes several customized steps. They include:

  • Initial Visit: meeting with you, the client, to discuss the scope of work along with the property's possibilities and constraints, which will be followed by a proposal of fees for services
  • Site Measurement: to develop a map of the property for construction documents
  • Conceptual Sketches: colored sketches showing various ideas and schemes for landscape and hardscape options. The emphasis at this stage is to determine the size and function of various spaces and to review the design with ownership for additional suggestions
  • Revised Concept Plan: a revised colored sketch based on direction from previous meetings. The purpose is to finalize the overall design prior to final drawings
  • Construction Documents: development of scaled drawings depicting hardscape locations, key features of the landscape, as well as a full planting plan that shows the size, location, and quantity of all plant material. Final construction documents are suitable for any homeowner's association submittal that may be required and can also be used to get bids from landscape contractors.

Additional services offered include cost estimations, irrigation plans, landscape lighting plans, as well as project construction observation and management.
